National Convention
The National Convention of Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. takes place annually at a predetermined location and is organized by the National Convention Committee, whose members are active Undergraduate and Professional/ Alumnae Sisters.
Sisters come together for educational and recreational workshops, events that focus on the empowerment, leadership, and philanthropy of Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. Though each year the designated theme is different, the overall goal is to unite Sisters and keep them up-to-date with all Sorority related matters.
S.E.A. Formal
As a means of acknowledging the roles and accomplishments of our Sisters, in May 1989, Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. began the tradition of the annual banquet (awards ceremony). This awards ceremony, which later became known as the annual Scholarship Excellence Awards Formal (S.E.A. Formal), is the most acclaimed celebration of the year; highlighting and recognizing the year’s award recipients and showcasing a celebration like no other. It allows Sisters from all regions to come together while enjoying the splendor of being part of our enchanting Sisterhood.
Sisterhood Retreat
The Sisterhood Retreat was a rejuvenating and empowering experience where bonds were strengthened, memories were made, and Sisterhood was celebrated. Sisters came together for a weekend filled with engaging workshops, team-building activities, and moments of reflection.
The retreat provided an opportunity to reconnect, recharge, and embrace the true essence of Lambda Tau Omega. Sorority Inc.
Featured Events
Interest Mingle
Once a year, we host an event where our Sisters and womyn interested in Lambda Tau Omega come together for an opportunity to get to know one another better. This event fosters an environment where Sisters and potential new members can network and bond before joining the Sorority. Plus, there’s food and a variety of activities to enjoy throughout the event.
Founders Week
This is a time filled with enchanting events leading up to Founder’s Day on October 9th. During this special week, all Chapters come together to plan and execute a series of exciting activities. It’s a time for celebration and honoring our beloved Founders for creating a beautiful Sisterhood.
Sports Event Outing
Occasionally, we organize thrilling sporting events where members can score tickets to watch their favorite games—be it soccer, baseball, football, or more. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our members to bond with each other, while also bringing along family and friends to share in the excitement. These events not only foster camaraderie but also allow members to introduce their loved ones to the broader community.
National Week of Kindess
The National Week of Kindness is a celebration dedicated to promoting acts of kindness and compassion. This week, held in February, is observed with various activities such as donating books, food, or clothes to local communities and performing random acts of kindness.
Movie with the Merms
This special event is hosted once or twice a year. We rent a private theater exclusively for our Sisters, their friends, and family. It’s an opportunity for everyone to enjoy a movie together and share some laughs. It’s always an enchanting experience!
Mermaid Marinade
Occasionally, we host a delightful summer gathering at a local park where Sisters, their friends, and family come together to relax and have fun. The event is filled with delicious food and a variety of activities, creating a perfect environment for everyone to enjoy each other’s company. It’s always a fantastic time, full of laughter and great memories!
