Womyn of all walks of life—including race, color, religion, orientation, political views, national regions, etc.—support each other in this colorful and multi-faceted organization. We believe that the challenges, struggles, and triumphs we encounter through our gender unite us as a force that can overcome all.

Our lifelong journey in this Sisterhood begins at a college or university because Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. encourages the pursuit of knowledge through higher learning. In addition, the rich knowledge of our Founders and our herstory helps guide us into the shining future of our Sisterhood.

Benefits of Joining our Sisterhood

Academic Excellence

Those initiatives include, but aren’t limited to, offering tutoring and mentorship. We also encourage academic excellence by offering scholarships to our Sisters, which are presented annually during our Scholarship Excellence Awards (S.E.A.) Formal.

Our average G.P.A for Undergraduate Members is a 3.2, which speaks to the values we all live by. Additionally, we strive to utilize our academic insight to empower the community through outreach.

Womyn Empowerment

We seek strong, independent and diverse womyn that are interested in promoting the advancement of their communities. Our programs help develop the leadership potential of our members and assist them in all their professional and personal endeavors.

Community Service

Lambda Tau Omega focuses on developing leaders who hold service to their community as an integral part of increasing community impact, especially for womyn and children. Our members raise funds and awareness through local and national programming initiatives.

We strive to achieve the enhancement, equality and inclusion for all members and the outside community through promotion of our diverse membership base, and inclusion in all activities. Criteria for Membership

Undergraduate Membership

Undergraduate interests seeking membership into Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. is required to meet the following to be eligible for consideration:

Academics

Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university.
Have earned a minimum of 12 credits at your current institution.
Have a minimum cumulative 2.75 G.P.A.

Greek Life

Verify that your institution recognizes Greek-lettered organizations.
Does not hold current membership to a social Sorority.

Professional Membership

Womyn interested in seeking membership into Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. who are not currently enrolled in an Undergraduate Program is required to meet the following to be eligible for consideration:

Professional Status

Bachelor’s Degree with a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.75, or
Has been working for a minimum of 5 years in her designated industry, or
Military service for at least 4 years.

Greek Life

Does not hold current membership to a social Sorority.

Informational Session

Vino Blanco

If you are interested and looking for more information about our organization, a great way to get to know us better is by attending a Vino Blanco – our official informational!

We recommend you attend a Vino Blanco Informational Session at one of our local Undergraduate or Professional Chapters. There is no limit to how many Vino Blanco information sessions you can attend, and no obligation to join the organization by attending. In fact, we encourage womyn to attend as many different organizations’ informational sessions as possible to find the Sorority that is right for them.
