1987
A group of 16 womyn at Montclair State College came together with the idea of creating Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc.
1988
Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. was founded by our 16 Founding Mothers at Montclair State College [now known as Montclair State University].
1991
LTO officially became incorporated.
1992
Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. began Project ’92.
1993
Annual educational scholarship established.
The Coral Class is founded.
1996
“The Siren” newsletter is created.
1998
Became a founding member of (NMGC) National Multicultural Greek Council.
2001
National Step Team is founded.
2004
The first National Convention “Reaching New Horizons” was held at Kean University in NJ.
2005
The Blue Ribbon Campaign is adopted as the National Philanthropic Cause.
National Website launched www.lto1988.org.
2007
National Step Team became Latinosstep National Champions.
Annual Banquet is renamed to Scholarship Excellence Award Formal (S.E.A. Formal).
2008
Judicial Honor Conclave is established.
The 20th Anniversary Commemorative yearbook is published on October 17th, 2008.
2016
Launch of The True Woman Magazine.
The Blue Ribbon Campaign is renamed to Blue PInwheel Campaign in support of Prevent Child Abuse America.
2018
Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc. becomes trademarked.
2020
Alumnae Chapters were renamed to Professional Chapters.
2021
Sisters-Only intranet, The COVE, launched.
2023
First Sorority Retreat
